Equipment for modern & relevant motor vehicle training programmes
What is this project about?
Today's motor car consists of a series of complex systems that combine advanced mechanical assemblies with electro-mechanical, electro-hydraulic, electro-pneumatic, electrical / electronic control and monitoring systems. It is with these developments in mind that the auto-lab at MCAST was designed, installed, tested and commissioned. This auto-lab will provide the necessary skills to reduce the skills shortage in the above areas, and will benefit the motor vehicle sector to adhere to new standards introduced as a result of EU membership.
Specialised didactic equipment for the provision of vehicle training programmes has already been procured for the automotive lab and engineering workshops, and the lab is already in operation, expected to cater for over 100 students per year.
