The project entails the upgrading of three industrial parks, namely Bulebel, Hal-Far and Ta’ Dbiegi (Gozo). Works include the upgrading of service infrastructure and communal facilities in the industrial estates, and aim to render the industrial parks more attractive to investors in view of better access and improved support services, whilst at the same time creating a better working environment. The upgrading aims to ensure that the industrial parks meet present day investment requirements.
Works entail road resurfacing, the improvement of rainwater collection systems, service trenching and upgrading of service networks, paving, landscaping and signage. There will also be the development of central waste separation pick-up sites to facilitate and promote waste separation by industry, and the development of communal service administration blocks which will enable the establishment of common services to the tenants, such as child day-care centres and clinics.
The industrial estates to be upgraded will reach international standards of similar parks in Europe.
